Chocolate cake


Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour one 8X8-inch pan.

Stir together into a large bowl:

  • 1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 c plus 2 Tbsp sugar com
  • 6 Tbsp unsweetened non alkalized cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Combine and add:

  • 1 c cold water
  • 1/4 c vegetable oil
  • 1Tbspn white vinegar
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Stir until smooth. Scrape the batter into the pan and spread evenly. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 25-30 min. Serve plain, dusted with powdered sugar.
